Terminal 1 of Mumbai airport to get back to service

According to a report, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) of Mumbai is all ready to get back to service for the operation of domestic flights from Terminal 1 from the second week of this month. Further adding, Terminal 1 in Vile Parle, had remained inoperative in case of passenger handling for nearly a year and is now going to resume operations very soon.
There are two terminals in the Mumbai Airport- T1 AND T2. T1 serves the domestic passengers and T2 serves the international ones along with the domestic operations of some of the Indian airlines.
Keeping in sync with the report, in days before the outbreak of the pandemic, some of the airlines used to undergo their domestic operations from T1. But, after remaining closed due to Coronavirus for nearly two months when the domestic passenger service resumed late last year, it started on with its operation from T2 only.
In such a context, the airport operator exclaimed that from midnight of March 10, Star Air, GoAir, Trujet and Air Asia shall be restarted their domestic operation from Terminal 1. Further adding that, in relation to IndiGo, the base flights shall be serviceable from Terminal 1, but most of the operations of the flight shall be managed from Terminal 2.
The restart of service from Terminal 1 is seen as an additional step in ensuring the safety of the passengers. In addition to this, social distancing is a matter that shall be of utmost priority.
The CSMIA officials have stated that facilities in relation to safety and hygiene measures shall all be provided at the airport.
