Morni Hills – Your next paragliding destination

Located in the Panchkula district of Haryana, Morni Hills is being developed to be the largest paragliding destinations in India. A team of professional gliders of the Border Security Force (BSF) has off late conducted the first-ever two paragliding test flights.
The test exercise was conducted to ascertain the possibility of one of the most adventurous activities in the Panchkula district. The test flights were performed by a team of BSF personnel who were posted at Dehradun’s  BSF Adventure School. The Shivalik Development Board, who was given the responsibility for the development of the entire lower Himalayan region, was in – charge of the trials.
Due to the suitability of climate, infrastructure and topographical conditions, paragliding activities are mainly based in Manali (Himachal Pradesh ) and  Rishikesh (Uttarakhand ).
As reported, the BSF personnel began their test flights from Bhori village at Morni, situated at an elevation of 4000 ft above sea level. The team landed in Palasara village. Through these paragliding activities, the non – hilly state of Haryana can boost tourism.
The Morni Hills, settled within 45 km from Chandigarh share its border with Sirmour in Himachal Pradesh and bears close proximity to Panchkula, Yamuna Nagar, and Ambala district of Haryana. This place is well famed for the Himalayan hills, lakes, and the vast green cover of land.
