Be a proud Delhiite at Cafe Delhi Heights

Cafe Delhi heights located in DLF Place Mall, Saket is everything you desire in a place where you can dine and hang out with your family and friends. The ambiance is amazing, the food is crazy and the place reeks of typical Delhiite vibe from every corner. Being one of the high end and popular places in the entire Select City walk and DLF area, the place is always crowded especially on the weekends. So, we would strongly advise you to book the tables in advance in order to avoid being disappointed.

The average cost per person for dining in the restaurant is approximately 1000 INR.

Ambience

The place is as beautiful and lively as it gets and at the same time ideal for the family outings and romantic dates with your loved ones. The well-decorated walls contrast perfectly with the artistically illuminated interior of the place. The ancient heritage of Delhi, of which the Delhiites seem to be so proud of, can be felt pretty easily once you set your foot inside. The place gives out a happy and positive vibe that would easily make Café Delhi Heights enter your list of favorite places to eat in and around Delhi. Overall, the interiors were beautifully done and certainly a decent one to visit. The music there might captivate your soul, hence you can also call it a paradise for music lovers.

Cuisines

Delhiites are known to be ardent foodies. They know their way around food like no other people. Delhi Heights does a great justice to that aspect of the locales. The menu is diverse and there are food options ranging from the north Indian meals to the Continental, America, and Chinese, for which Delhiites are known to be super crazy.

For the breakfast, you have varied options such as Divine Doughnuts and Oatmeal and Date which would provide you with an amazing taste in your mouth along with the essential nutrients. The place is specifically famous for the delicious burgers it serves which are said to be addictive. The several different varieties of both vegetarian and nonvegetarian burgers are just finger licking. We had a really good time with the Jucy Lucy Burger for what Café Delhi Heights is mostly known for and to our surprise, it was quite large such that a single person just cannot finish it all by himself and so large so two people started binging on it. The chocolate brownie shake is an outstanding one and a must try.

Paani Puri, pepperoni pizza, whole wheat pasta and sauteed broccoli on the boat also serve an incredible experience. The bar menu is quite extensive as well some authentic imported wines and whiskeys, all the best brands you could imagine.

Delhi burger and the American hot dog are two of the most popular meals the place happens to have on their huge menu.

For the deserts we have all the usuals such as ice creams and cakes.

Highlights

The biggest crowd puller aspect of the place is the Delhi theme, but other than that, there are enough good things about the place which somehow makes it a foodie magnet.

One amazing thing about the place is that they provide a complimentary bread basket with butter and potato wedges which satisfies your hunger pangs till the food ordered arrives and the wait becomes a  becomes a lot easier and fun.

Cafe Delhi Heights is one place that every proud Delhiite must be visiting at least once to add on to their gastronomic experiences.

Review Theobroma Bakery, Cyberhub

Address: Ground Floor, Cyber Hub, DLF Cyber City, Gurgaon

Ambience: 4/5 stars

Services: 2/5 stars

Food: 4/5 stars

Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

Review:

We have all heard of Theobroma’s delicious deserts and when a shop opened up in Cyberhub opposite of Hard Rock Cafe, I went there to satisfy my sweet tooth. I was disappointed with the service but mainly it was because of the crowd that I had to wait 45 minutes to get my muffins, sandwich and coffee. The overall ambience of the place is good with teal colour and inside/outside dining experience. It can have up to 50 people but with a crowded place such as cyberhub, that does pose a problem.

Now I can never complaint about those deserts. The Millionaire brownie and chocolate over load brownie just exploded chocolatey goodness in my mouth. The texture was perfect, the taste was delicious and if I get fat I will be blaming it on those delicious brownies. Because you cannot just eat one and be satisfied. I went home with a box full. The Caramel short bread was yummy. It was short bread with melted caramel base and chocolate on it.

I also loved Cookie Brownie, Devil’s Mousse Cake and Dipped chocolate truffles. Yes I love desserts and sweet things. Also, chocolate is one of my biggest weaknesses.

I also tried their Cheesecake which had a crunchy base and soft cream cheese on top with blueberry.  I have always wanted to try cheesecake and I still remember how good it tasted. I can almost feel it in my mouth. Their red velvet brownie was one of the best I have ever tasted. It just melts into your mouth. They also have a huge variety of other deserts that I will be trying the next time I am there.

I also tried their cold coffee which I absolutely hated.  It was watery and did not even taste like coffee. They also had a variety of breakfast options and sandwiches. The sandwich bread was too soft but the taste of the filling makes up for it.  The good thing about this place is that you can pack all these delicious deserts and take them home or gift them because they are not too expensive.

You easily get to satisfy the sweet tooth without burning a hole in your pocket. I will be checking off items on the menu one by one on my many visits there. But never again am I ever going to try their coffee. They seriously need to work on that as well as being efficient in their services.

Review Wow Momos restaurant, HKV

This momo restaurant in Hauz Khas Village is a place to satisfy all your momo cravings or just to rest and eat something between your bar hops. We went there to try out different varieties of momos one day as we had been hearing a lot about this place that offers so many varieties if delicious momos. It is perfect for when you are bored with homemade food and want some light snacks for the evening.

Ambiance: As soon as you enter, the yellow, red and orangish exterior just lifts your mood. The seating is medium spacious and the lighting is good so you can click pictures of your food to make your Instagram followers and foodie friends jealous or just click selfies with friends to make memories. The staff though a little interfering at times is mostly cooperative.

Menu: The menu is much diversified. There is so much to choose from. They have chicken tandoori momos, chocolate momos, malai tikka momos. Prawn momos, Mushroom momos, Pan fried momos. There is also Schezwan sauce and Tomato garlic sauce available.

Food: We ordered Schezwan chicken pan-fried momos which didn’t turn out good as the filling was not tasty and the sauce was too tangy. The mushroom momos we tried were just normal, nothing too delicious. They should add more spices to the mix to make them tastier. Now the Malai tikka momos were incredibly tasty and creamy. There were so many varieties available but we did not experiment with many of it. The Tandoori chicken momos have a smoky flavour which I enjoyed. It was served with refreshing mint chutney and the chicken filling itself was juicy and delicious. After being disappointed with the other momos, it was a risk to order more stuff but we did it anyway because we wanted to try it. And we’re glad because we found some really delicious stuff too. The preparation is good but you have to be selective with what you are ordering.

Highlights: Home delivery is also available. There is a huge variety to choose from in both steamed and pan-fried momos. The Tandoori chicken momos and Malai Tikka momos are a must-try.

Verdict:  Wow momos just like their name suggests give you yummy momos that will have you thinking ‘Wow’ at a decent price. If you are ever craving momos in Delhi, then this is the right place to go. With so many varieties to confuse you about what to order and decent pricing so that it doesn’t affect your pocket much, it gives you momos that you will keep coming back for.  Though, I do believe they need to work on some of their dishes and add spices to make them taste better. Some momo fillings were just bland and I expected more.

Going again: We will definitely be going there again and trying other stuff on their menu. There was Moburg and Thupka that we are excited about trying.

Cost: Rs 350 for 2 people approx

Address: 8-A, Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi

Zizo, CP- Get Authentic Lebanese Food

An authentic restaurant that offers Lebanese food in Delhi. Yes, it is no joke. Zizo is a place creating quite a buzz with its increasing popularity. It mainly serves Mediterranean cuisines and is famous for Lebanese food. To keep it authentic, they even get the ingredients from Lebanon. With Zizo, it is all about quality food that is authentic and not like the usual restaurants who serve Shawarma and hummus as a form of Lebanese food. The place is easy to find as it is located just opposite the PVR plaza.

Ambience: As soon as you enter, there are eye-catching jars of pickled vegetables placed on the service counter that you see. It is an attractive looking place with a cosy vibe and good ambience. The decor is contemporary and there are shelves lined with cookbooks. It has the Middle Eastern charm.

Food: Coming to food, let’s start with drinks. There are plenty of drinks such as lemonade, Mulberry juice and Rosewater. I highly recommend the Watermelon Passion fruit juice. The first thing to try, of course, is what Lebanese food is famous for. Some spicy hummus with Pita bread. The hummus made our taste buds come alive and the Pita bread was incredibly fresh and fluffy. It is the right starter to get you started on this amazing dining experience. The best thing about this food is that it is delicious and filling without being fatty and that is why we wish to return there again and again. Where else can you enjoy delicious food without worrying about the calories that you are swallowing? Then we tried the hot mezze platter and fattoush salad which was so good with its flavour and it was evident that earthy and aromatic herbs were used in preparing the food. If you wish to try something unusual and yet yummy, then there is a lamb burger on the menu that just explodes the various flavours in your mouth. All the food we tried was fresh and correctly spiced, neither did it turn out too bland or too spicy.

Service: The service is good and the staff works hard on getting the Arabic pronunciation right unlike other places where they mispronounce the names of even simple dishes. The menu is categorized into sections and it offers a lot of varieties to choose from.

Cost: Rs 1600 for 2 people approx. The pricing seems decent when you compare it with the quality and quantity of food you’ll be getting. Zizo doesn’t shy away from giving a decent quantity of food.

Highlights: The main Highlight of the place has to be the food and the live music that plays. The Pita bread we tried was one of the best we have ever tasted. So when Zizo claims to be serving authentic Lebanese food, it fulfills on that claim.

Verdict: Even though it is a great idea to go to Zizo and enjoy the food while absorbing the beautiful place, you can also taste the same while sitting at home in your pajamas because they offer home delivery as well. The food of Zizo is a must try. Highly recommend the Mazze Platter.

Desi deliciousness – A review of Dhaba by Claridges

Interior Rating: 4/5 stars

Food: 5/5 stars

Staff: 4/5 stars

Overall: 4.5/5 stars.

How many times have you eaten on a local roadside Dhaba while with friends? The delicious food, the homely feeling, the whole experience is indescribable. But while you are stuck in the city, all you get on the name of eating outside is take outs and boring restaurant food. Dhaba by Claridges give you authentic Dhaba food with the same homely feeling.

Review:

As soon as I entered the place with a couple of my friends, I was astonished to see the whole set up. The interior is like a Dhaba set up near a ‘theka’ and there are Nimbu-Mirchi lights and an actual truck. It might seem hilarious but it was actually a good thing. There were Bollywood posters on the walls and good music that would make you want to start dancing. In fact, the staff did an actual dance with their song of the month. The whole ambiance of the place put me at total ease. The staff was very polite and cooperative. The seating arrangement is good with nice lighting.

Now for the most important part, the food! The menu is divided into tawa, tandoor and patila. Me, I love non-veg and one of my friends is a total vegetarian so while I munched on Chicken Biryani, galouti kebabs, Butter chicken and tandoori Roti, he ordered Bhune aloo, Kadhi pakora, Dal Dhabha and Dhaba Roti.

The food was in sizable quantities and being a food lover, I have a good appetite.  Glad to say that my stomach was just as filled with my heart as I devoured the delicious food. The Butter chicken was juicy and Chicken Biryani equally yummy. According to my friend,  Bhune aloo was also wonderful and Dhaba Roti was a mixture between Roti and Naan. I will be giving that a try the next time I go there. There was masala onions, salad, and chutney which also tasted fine.

For drinks, we got Kala Khatta which was also incredibly nice and Aam Panna which was just okay. The menu is very wide and it took us a lot of time to decide what we wanted to try. Since we were there for the first time, we did not know what would taste good and what would not. That is probably the only thing that stopped me from ordering Tiffen chicken and I saw that one person there ordered it and it actually came in a Tiffen! The place also offers a wide variety of drinks with their own twist on them like toofan, gulabo, santari and lal pari. In the end, we also ordered the alcoholic Kulfi to finish the meal and it was absolutely worth it.

Now for the cons, since the Dhaba is in the pulsating hub of the city, it is crowded and there’s a huge line of people waiting to get inside. By the time you finish waiting and actually get inside, you are famished and would dig into anything you can get your hands on. Also, for normal class people, it is sort of expensive.

But once you have tasted the food and start sliding into the whole aura of the place, you will have no complaints and only praise for everything about the Dhaba. I will recommend it to everyone to just go and have a meal there (especially my friends whom I’ll be dragging there). I myself will be going there again. Hopefully, I will find a day when it is less crowded.

Sitting outside, taking in the amazing view of the sunset, have a delicious plate of sea food. Just perfect and that too at a cost of 2000 INR, that’s the money well spent.

Food is an essential part of any journey and in a foodie’s paradise like Goa, your trip could turn into a delicious one.

The cravings of mad foodies, for authentic Mughlai and North Indian Food, are best satiated at Dum Pukht located inside ITC Maurya at Sardar Patel Marg, Chanakyapuri. The restaurant serves you the real authentic taste from the Awadh region of India and curates the lost authentic cooking styles.
