If you are travelling to Kashmir on road, you are required to undergo Covid tests

An official on Thursday stated that if you are traveling to Kashmir by road, then you are required to undergo a Covid test in Kulgam district.
A spokesperson said that Mohammed Aijaz, Deputy Commissioner of Srinagar chaired a meeting to review the current scenario.
Asad is of the view that in order to curb the spread of the virus in the valley, testing of travelers commuting via roadways shall get started in the Lower Munda area in the next few days.
The deputy commissioner further stated that there shall be a mass vaccination of hotel staff, drivers, houseboat staff, and others across all tourist destinations.
The staff members shall be given special training to make sure that all the standard operating procedures are strictly maintained while dealing with the visitors, he added.
Asad requested the tourism stakeholders to ensure that all the hotels follow proper sanitization and hygiene.
The deputy commissioner has ordered the hotel authorities to keep two rooms separate for the isolation of tourists if they are detected positive.
Dr Gazalla, the in-charge of Covid-19 testing at Srinagar Airport, stressed the necessity of vaccination.
Various tourism stakeholders from Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, and Sonamarg were present in the meeting.
The tourism players have put forward various demands that include the hiring of separate hotels for the shelter of isolated and infected tourists, permission for visiting the valley for the tourists who have a negative RT-PCR test report, improvement in the testing procedure at the airport, and sanitization of the hotels.
