More than 5k vehicles commuting through Atal Tunnel daily

As more than 5000 tourist vehicles cross the Atal Tunnel in Himachal Pradesh, necessary steps shall be taken to provide better infrastructure and ensure travelers have a cozy stay. Recently, the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Jai Ram Thakur has made an announcement regarding this matter.
The tunnel has received a renovation so that it can easily connect the areas such as Lahaul throughout the year. In the earlier times, the route would remain inaccessible for nearly half of the year.
At the conclusion of the Snow Festival that was held in Lahaul-Spiti district, the CM of Himachal Pradesh announced that the state government would very soon submit a concrete proposal before the Union Minister of Tourism for proclaiming the Lahaul Spiti district as a hot favorite destination for tourists.
The tunnel has not only lead to development but also given a massive boost to the tourism industry. It has provided employment facilities to the local residents and has also transformed the economy of the district, according to the CM.
In addition to this, the CM has also stated that the region now boasts of 450 homestays to serve to the needs of the visitors. In this context, the Tribal Development, Technical Education and Information Technology Minister, Ram Lal Markanda opined that the people who are in charge of the homestays shall be given effective training so that the visitors are provided with a much better service.
As the 75- day snow festival is coming to an end, Markanda announced that steps would be taken to ensure GI tagging of the festival because of the unique experiences that it lends to its guests and the way it has revived the tradition of the region that was almost deemed to be extinct.
